Healthcare Access
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Health Insurance Plans of LA & Ventura County residents impacted by the fires are now required to cover all continuation and/or medically necessary health care services, including prescription drugs according to the CA EMERGENCY MANDATE FOR HEALTH INSUANCE PLANS. Health plan members should first contact their health plan for assistance and can find the plan’s member services contact information on the DMHC website, or on their health plan member card. If a member has problems obtaining services or assistance from their health plan, they can contact the DMHC Help Center at ww.DMHC.ca.gov or 1-888-466-2219 for further assistance.
- Prescriptions
- Free Emergency Refills – GoodRX (app) provides free Emergency Refills provided through a telehealth appointment. During the telehealth appointment, a licensed medical professional can refill existing medications and send them to a local pharmacy of the patient’s choice for pick-up.
- Accessing Emergency Refills: Most insurance companies allow for emergency refills or a one-time override if you are early on your refill.
- Switching Pharmacies: If the fires have caused your local pharmacy to delay operations, or you’ve evacuated, you can transfer your prescription(s) to another pharmacy
- The Emergency Prescription Assistance Program helps people in a federally identified disaster area who do not have health insurance get the prescription drugs, vaccinations, medical supplies, and equipment that they need.
- Doctors
- Tele-Doc – Individuals displaced by fires or those who are unable to access traditional medical care can consult licensed health care professionals for non-emergency illnesses by calling 855-225-5032. Services include treatment for conditions such as respiratory infections, allergies, sinus problems and cold or flu symptoms, company officials said. Additionally, Teladoc Health is providing assistance with prescription refills for non-narcotic medications.
- Santa Barbara Midwifery and Birth Center is offering displaced Los Angeles-area fire victims free belly checks, postpartum care and other services for families who evacuated to the Santa Barbara area. For more information, email sbmidwifery@gmail.com.
- Mental Health
- Music Health Alliance Mental Health Fund – MHA’s Mental Health Program provides complete and comprehensive, high-quality outpatient mental health resources, funding and follow-up to qualified music industry professionals.
- Backline Backline connects music industry professionals and their families with mental health counselors and a list of financial resources to assist with the cost of counseling.
- Disaster Distress Helpline – This toll-free, multilingual, crisis support service is available 24/7 to all residents in the U.S. and its territories who are experiencing emotional distress related to natural or human-caused disasters. Call or text: 1-800-985-5990.
- California HOPE Crisis Counseling Program – Offers free mental health support for individuals affected by wildfires. 1-833-317-4673.

Emergency Financial Assistance
- MusiCares – MusiCares is providing short-term disaster relief to qualifying music industry professionals, including $1,500 in financial assistance to music professionals impacted. MusiCares is also able to provide additional support for individuals with considerable impact, including damage to their homes, medical issues, damaged music equipment or longer-term relocation needs. - Sweet Relief – Sweet Relief Musicians Fund is here to provide immediate financial assistance to music industry professionals impacted by natural disasters.
- Entertainment Community Fund The Entertainment Community Fund has opened applications for financial relief for all performing arts and entertainment professionals.
- We Are Moving The Needle – We Are Moving The Needle’s is launching a new MicroGrants fund to support audio professionals affected by the Greater Los Angeles wildfires.
- Dramatists Guild Foundation has Crisis Relief Grants available to dramatists(composers, lyrists, playwrights, librettists) who have evacuated or experienced loss in the fires. The grants can be used for rental costs, medical needs and insurance payments. More information and applications for the grants can be found online.
- Motion Picture and Television Fund is working to provide financial assistance and a multitude of social services to working and retired members of the entertainment community. The organization’s social workers are currently taking hotline calls and will return them as quickly as possible. In addition to providing financial assistance, MPTF will also provide case management services to support industry members through the many federal and state and other resources that might be available to them. - Federal Disaster Assistance: Available relief programs for the L.A. fires for residents and homeowners include temporary displacement assistance covering hotel costs for up to two weeks, up to $770 for essential personal items, direct grants for critical needs including medical bills and car repairs. Temporary Shelter
- AirBNB Temporary Housing –org is providing free, temporary housing for people who have been displaced by the Los Angeles wildfires.
- LA Area Hotel Discounts: Variety Magazine put together a list dozens of hotels in San Diego, Santa Barbara and more who are offering discounted rates for families, pets and those displaced by the LA fires.
- Santa Monica Hotel Discounts – Discounted rates are available to first responders and area residents who have been evacuated due to the Palisades Fire.
- Red Cross Shelters – The Red Cross will provide emergency shelter and a warm meal.
- The city of Anaheim has compiled an online list of hotels within the city that are offering discounted rates for victims who have been displaced by the fire. The 39 hotels offering discounts include Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa, Clementine Hotel and Suites Anaheim, Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort, and Cambria Hotel and Suites Anaheim.
- San Diego Tourism Authority has an online list of San Diego-area hotels that are offering special accommodation rates for fire victims. The 34 hotels offering discounts include, Town and Country Resort, Intercontinental San Diego, Bahia Resort Hotel, Rancho Bernardo Inn, La Jolla Shores Hotel and more.
- Visit Santa Barbara created an online list of Santa Barbara-area discounted lodging rates for those affected by the fire. Due to high demand, availability may be limited. The organization recommends contacting any of the 23 hotels listed directly for the most up-to-date information on daily activities.
- Discover Torrance has created an online tool where fire victims can type in their dates for stay and number of guests to see which hotels in the Torrance area have availability for special rates.

Food
- LA Regional Food Bank – Providing food distribution at multiple locations.
- World Central Kitchen – Distributing free hot meals to the public at multiple locations.

Baby Supplies
- Babyletto, a Los Angeles-based nursery furniture brand, is providing free cribs to any families who have lost their homes or otherwise are affected by the fires. For more information contact the company at info@babyletto.com
- Bobbie, an organic baby formula company, is providing any parent affected by the fires — Bobbie customer or not — with free baby formula. Fire victims can apply for the free formula at Bobbie’s online application.
- Community Resource Center in Pomona is offering free resources Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Provided items include baby supplies, emergency kits, food pantry and on-site resource referrals. Clothing
- Brooklyn Projects, a skateboard and clothing shop on Melrose, is providing free clothing, shoes and socks for victims who left their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The shop is located at 7427 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles 90046.
- Coop, real estate agent Jenna Cooper’s boutique, is offering free clothing for individuals and families affected by the fires from now until Jan. 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The boutique has pants, jackets, shirts, sweaters and shoes. It’s located at 7278 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles 90036
- Aerie, a loungewear and active-wear brand, in collaboration with social media influencer Lindsay Weiss, is offering fire victims free clothing, including tops, bottoms, pajamas, bras and underwear. Fire victims can fill out a online Google formand Aerie will ship out a package.
- The National Council of Jewish Women is supporting displaced individuals and families by offering a thousand $100 vouchers to be used at the Council Shopsecondhand, stores. The vouchers are intended to help address immediate clothing needs. To access this resource please contact Selene Lopez and Maria Preciado at info@ncjwla.org. - The Suay Sew Shop is offering free clothing, water and food for fire victims this weekend. Head to their shop at 905 Mateo St., Los Angeles, 90021. Store hours are normally 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Quirk, Los Angeles-area vintage store, is open all week from noon to 8 p.m. offering affected victims at least 10 items per person, visitors must show their I.D. The store is located at 112 W 9th Street Suite 400, Los Angeles 90015.

- Music Gear Storage: Seahorse Sound is offering free gear storage for musicians affected by the fires.
- Vehicles, Belongings & Music Gear Storage: Caveman Vintage is offering storage for belongings or vehicles in Lincoln Heights.
- U-Haul has made 92 company facilities in Southern California available to offer its 30-day free self-storage and U-Box container disaster relief program to help evacuees and affected families. The following regions can be contacted to check for participating locations:

- WARP, Los Angeles-based tech-forward logistics company, is offering free transportation and storage for affected businesses at their local LA-are facilities. In addition, any shippers working to move large-scale donations of food, water, essentials are free to use their facilities as a drop-off and pick-up point as well. Transportation
- UBER: Evacuees can redeem a free Uber ride up to $40 by applying the promo code “WILDFIRE25” in the Wallet section of their Uber app before requesting a ride to a designated shelter location.
- LYFT: Evacuated residents who need a ride to a shelter can use the code “CAFIRERELIEF25” for a free Lyft rideworth up to $25. Each user can use the code for two rides maximum.
- PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: A. Metro – As of January 9, 2025, all fare collection has been temporarily suspended systemwide.

- AT&T is offering people in fire-damaged areas unlimited data, talk, and text through Feb. 6.
Verizon is waiving call, text, and data charges for customers in wildfire areas as well, and they’re offering free Wi-Fi and charging stations at designated shelters.
T-Mobile is offering unlimited talk, text, and data for customers in the cities of Altadena, La Cañada Flintridge, Los Angeles, Palisades, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre who do not have it as part of their service plan now through Jan. 15. - Showers & Wi-Fi – Planet Fitness is providing people free access to locker rooms, showers, Hydromassage loungers, electrical outlets and Wi-Fi. The offer is valid until Jan. 15
- Mutual Aid LA List – Extensive list of shelters, food, information access points, pet/animal resources updated in real time.
