  • National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics – Directory of free and charitable clinics nationwide for those needing free or low-cost health care. 
  • Access Now – Connects patients with volunteer specialists, often requiring primary care at a safety-net clinic.  

Medications


  • RxAssist Patient Assistance Program Center – Comprehensive database of pharmaceutical company patient assistance programs providing free or discounted medications to eligible uninsured patients.
  • GoodRx – Free prescription discount coupons saving up to 80% on medications at 70,000+ U.S. pharmacies; no insurance or membership required. 

Financial Assistance for Medical Bills


  • Hospital Charity Care Programs – Most nonprofit hospitals are legally required to offer charity care; patients can request financial assistance applications through hospital billing departments. Varies by hospital.

Price Comparison for Medical Procedures 


  • MD Save – Offers pre-negotiated bundles to help reduce costs for medical procedures. Can search for a procedure, find a local provider, pay a discounted “bundled” price, and receive a voucher. Good for uninsured/high-deductible users, but has a limited network of providers. Costs may not apply to insurance deductibles (check with insurance).
  • Fair Health Consumer – Compares healthcare costs. Can enter CPT code, zip code, and insurance status to see the range of prices that insurers pay or providers charge in your area. Provides in-network and out-of-network estimates.
  • Clear Health Costs – Tool to compare self-pay prices for procedures. Shows high-cost providers and is good for uninsured/self-pay patients.

General Assistance Resources


  • 211.org – National 24/7 helpline connecting individuals to local resources for food, housing, utilities, health care, and crisis services; dial 2-1-1 from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Find Help  – Free online platform providing instant access to comprehensive, localized listings of social services programs in every U.S. ZIP code, searchable by need category.
